Bob Cox began Cox Garage
Doors in 1975 after working in the garage door business since 1963. In a short time we became one of the most knowledgeable and skilled garage door
businesses in the area. Since then we have met the needs of the area and we have expanded to keep up with those needs.
In 1984 Bob Cox, president of R. W. Cox Garage Doors opened an office to serve the needs of both residential and commercial customers in the Shenango Valley from its 1016 E. State Street location in Sharon. Late in February that all changed when R. W. Cox Garage Doors relocated to their brand new facility at 1021 Overlook Avenue in Farrell. Overlook Ave. is the site of the Keystone Opportunity Zone that was established in 1999 under Governor Tom Ridge.
R. W. Cox, Shenango Valley's only local garage door service, has upgraded its facility from 600 Sq. ft. on State Street, to 5,600 sq. ft. at the new address. The new location allows for much more warehousing space, as well as, an enhanced office environment. Some of the features that make the new structure impressive include a modern showroom and much more warehouse space. A dock system for loading service and installation vehicles as well as retail customers will help streamline the operation.
Jeff Cox, Vice President of R.W. Cox stated that the need for warehousing space was a priority for the decision to expand. Since inception all stock was held at the Maitland Lane location in New Castle creating some logistics difficulty. Now, with two fully stocked facilities in both New Castle and Farrell, Cox will become more of a retail and wholesale presence for homeowners and contractors in the area.
